Christmas Poem

The following is a Christmas-themed poem by Richard E. Wind.

So curl up by the fire and read on. It’s the holiday season!

My heart is divided in three

You, your brother, and me

As Christmas comes along

Gifts, feasts, and song

I keep trying to do my best

Hoping the world does the rest

To keep you safe and strong

Though everything around us is wrong

My heart is just too small

Too many fractures and falls

But, each day it grows a bit more

As I see so much of what’s in store

So as Christmas waxes and wanes

Lots of gifts, joys, candy canes

Darkness retreats under sun’s rays

And we’ll take it day by day
